Kiss Bowling Social - Thursday 12 August 2010
The next Kiss Group get together will be a "Kiss Social", taking place on Thursday 12th August. Taking a break from our usual format of debate and discussion, this month we'll be heading straight towards Funland at Trocadero for a spot of bowling! That's right ladies! It's time to dig out those bowling gloves and sparkling jackets and join the Kiss Girls for a chilled out and fun evening at the lanes. You don't need to be a pro to join us... but we would like to round up as many members as possible for at least 2 games and an evening of laughter. So bowlers at any level are welcome. :)
RSVP
We'll need you to confirm your attendance in advance, so we can pre-book lanes at Funland. So please do accept our Facebook invitation asap. If you are not a member of the Kiss Group on Facebook, then please RSVP to kiss.social@gmail.com
Format for the evening
Two Kiss members will be waiting for you at the Funland Bowling reception desk at 18.30pm. We'll then be rounding up members at 19.15pm, leaving you 45 minutes to grab a drink from the bar or if you're new, mingle with the kiss girls and find out why we're such a warm and friendly bunch. If you're lost, we'll send out a mobile number nearer the time, but you will need to RSVP to kiss.social@gmail.com or accept our Facebook invitation.
- 18.30 pm: Meet and greet at Funland Bowling reception area, (top floor of Funland).
- Nearest tube is Picadilly Circus.
- Directions: http://www.funland.co.uk/opening_times
- 19.15 pm: Round up attendees and purchase of bowling shoes.
- £6.95 per person, per game.
- 19.30 - Start knocking 'em strikes!!
Afterwards, we'll head towards a local bar. Or of course, sample the alternative gaming delights of Funland. Air hockey anyone!? ;) Hope to see you then!
Volunteers needed for Kiss Steering Group
We are looking for four Kiss members (two of whom should ideally be under 26) to join Parminder and Nazmia to steer our beloved Kiss to pastures new. There are things we need to do, things we need to address. ..urgently and we need human resources to do it.
The commitment would be 4 to 6 meetings a year and taking on key areas of responsibilities. If you have the time, are committed to the work of Kiss and have lots of energy for action, then please contact Parminder at Parminder@naz.org.uk or 0208 834 0260 to have a chat about what the role may involve.
Last Kiss meeting
Thanks to all those who made it to the July Kiss meeting at the Green Carnation. We had quite an impassioned but laughter filled debate about the new Government and whether we regretted the way we voted. Look forward to the next discussion at the September meeting!
10 years of Kiss in 2009!
2009 marked ten years of the existence of the Kiss Group. To commemorate this milestone two dedicated Kiss members have compiled memories and recollections from over these years in a project called '10 Kisses'. Click here to read more and see the results of their efforts.

KISS is live, kickin'
and cookin' on gas! We have over 150 members and new women join every month
so read on…
KISS is a social group made up of women who identify either as lesbian,
bisexual or queer and are of South Asian or Middle Eastern or North African
descent. Some of us have been out for a long time and some of us are just
'coming out'. Wherever you are at with your sexuality, this can be a space
for you.
We meet once a month, for samosas, drinks and to chill out. For some of
us, this is the only time in the month where we can be our true selves.
We're friendly, welcoming and provide an excellent opportunity to meet new
people, make new friends and find out what's happening. One to one support
is also available on request through the Naz Project - see Contact
Us
Membership is free and a free monthly mailout is also available. All you
need to do is give us your name and address. Interested? Keep on clicking... And read a booklet outlining our history and members' experiences.
KISS is a social support group funded by The Naz Project
London, a HIV/AIDS and sexual health agency working with South Asian, Middle
Eastern, North African and Latin American communities in London. We gratefully
acknowledge their support, as well as the talents of Kiss members, in producing
this website. |
